Here's what we do, from a brand new build to a repair on one bad board.

Everything we take on

Every job below is one we do ourselves across Little Rock.

Deck Installation

We frame new decks with pressure-treated joists, properly flashed ledger boards and footings set below the frost line. You pick the layout and decking material, we handle the engineering behind it so it doesn't move or sag.

Deck Repair

Soft boards, sagging joists, loose railings and squeaky stairs get fixed without rebuilding the whole deck. We check what's under the surface first, since rot on top usually means more underneath.

Deck Staining & Sealing

Stripping, sanding and sealing a deck protects the wood from sun and rain and buys you several more years before it needs replacing. We match the stain to the wood species so pressure-treated pine and cedar both take it the way they should.

Custom Deck Design

Multi-level decks, built-in benches, pergolas and stairs laid out to fit the actual slope of your yard. We draw it up before cutting anything so you know what you're getting.

Deck Replacement

When the framing underneath has rotted past the point of patching, we tear it out and start fresh rather than build a new deck on a bad foundation.

Composite Decking

Composite boards like Trex or TimberTech cost more upfront but don't need staining, splinter or rot the way wood does. We install with hidden fastener systems so the surface stays clean, no screw heads showing.

Deck Railing Installation

Railings built to code height with balusters spaced no more than 4 inches apart, so they pass inspection and keep kids and pets where they belong.

Screened Porches & Covered Decks

We build roofs and screen systems over an existing deck or as part of a new one, so you can use it on a rainy afternoon or without the bugs in July.

Deck Resurfacing

If the frame underneath is still solid, we replace just the decking boards instead of tearing down the whole structure. It's a faster, cheaper way to get rid of gray, splintery boards.

Pergolas & Shade Structures

Pergolas and shade structures attached to or built alongside a deck, sized to posts and footings that can actually support them.

How It Works

Four steps, and no surprises in any of them.

01

We come and look

You tell us what you want doing, we look at what is actually there, and we ask the awkward questions early.

02

You get a price

In writing, itemised, free. If something might add cost later we flag it now rather than at the end.

03

We do the work

Same crew throughout. We cover your floors, keep the dust down and tidy up before we leave each day.

04

We walk it with you

You point out anything you are not happy with and we fix it before the invoice, not after.

Common Questions

Things worth asking

Questions that come up once a project's underway.

Do I need a permit for a new deck?
Most decks attached to a house, or built more than 30 inches above grade, require a building permit and inspection in local jurisdictions around Little Rock. Permit requirements and fees are pulled and handled as part of the deck installation process.
How long does it take to build a deck?
A standard single-level deck, around 300 to 400 square feet, typically takes about one to two weeks from framing to final boards, weather permitting. Multi-level decks, built-in features or custom railings add time to that estimate.
Can you build a deck to fit a specific budget?
Decking material is usually the biggest lever on cost, so a budget gets worked backward from pressure-treated pine versus composite or cedar. Simplifying railing style or trimming square footage are the other places costs come down without cutting corners on the framing.
Do you guarantee your deck work?
Workmanship on deck construction and repair is guaranteed against defects in the labor itself, and manufacturer warranties cover the lumber or composite material separately. Specific warranty terms are spelled out in the written quote before work starts.
Who do I deal with day to day during the project?
The crew that measures and quotes a deck project is the same crew that shows up to build it, rather than handing the job to subcontractors. Questions during the build go straight to the people doing the work, not a separate office line.
What decking materials do you work with?
Pressure-treated pine, cedar and composite brands like Trex and TimberTech are all installed regularly, each with different cost, maintenance and lifespan trade-offs. Pressure-treated pine costs the least upfront but needs restaining every two to three years, while composite costs more but needs almost no maintenance.
Can I still use my yard while the deck is being built?
Most of the yard stays usable during a deck build, though the immediate work area gets fenced off or blocked for safety while framing and footings are poured. Access for delivery trucks and equipment is discussed before the project starts so driveways and gates aren't a surprise.
What do I need to do to prepare before work starts?
Clearing furniture, grills and planters off the existing deck or build area is the main prep needed before a crew arrives. Marking any buried sprinkler lines or dog fencing in the yard also helps avoid delays once digging for footings starts.
What happens if you find rot or damage once the old deck is torn out?
Hidden rot in ledger boards, rim joists or support posts is common once old decking comes off, and it gets priced and discussed before replacement work continues. A deck isn't rebuilt on compromised framing just to stay on the original quote.
How do I take care of a new deck once it's finished?
Wood decks need restaining every two to three years depending on sun exposure, and all decks benefit from keeping leaves and debris out of the gaps between boards. Composite decking just needs periodic washing, but railings and fasteners on any deck type should be checked yearly for movement.
